Ginger Herbal Tea

Traditionally used in eastern cultures as a natural tonic, ginger is now recognized worldwide for its healthy properties. It has a warm and mildly spicy taste that will awaken your senses while supporting normal digestion. An invigorating blend of tea that is naturally good for your immune system, this is the perfect recipe for an energizing experience in every cup.

Ginger has not only been a customary ingredient in a variety of cuisines, it has long been used for its remedial effects. Some of these include relief of indigestion, easing of nausea and vomiting as well as protecting against colds, flu and sore throats. Research has shown that the active ingredients in ginger, gingerol and shogoals, are responsible for ginger’s property of being a digestive aid. These ingredients help to neutralize the stomach acids, stimulate the secretion of digestive juices and relax the digestive tract muscles.

Studies have also shown that ginger seems to have an effect on our nervous system and hormones, which play a vital part in making sure our bodies function properly. One such role is controlling the contraction and extension of our blood vessels. A general rule of thumb is the greater the contraction, the higher your blood pressure; the less the contraction, the lower your blood pressure. This indicates that ginger can have an effect on your blood pressure which in turn will affect your risk for other diseases. The high potassium content of ginger also plays a role in blood pressure regulation.
